| The new Ajman International Airport is to be built by 2011 at a total cost of AED 12 billion. The airport is projected to receive more than 1 million passengers in the first three years of its operation. The first phase will consist of the main terminal buildings, a free zone and a commercial area consisting of 90 towers.
All the major freehold property developments in Ajman are located on the Emirates Road. Emirates City is a lavish development being built at a cost of AED 15 billion. The project consists of 72 residential and commercial towers and is expected to include picturesque lakes, green parks, a shopping district, mosques, five star hotels and educational & medical facilities.
Other developments on the Emirates Highway in South Ajman include the Eye of Ajman, Marmooka City, Awali City, Escape Ajman, Humaid City, Ajman Uptown, Emirates Lake Towers, Ajman Green City, Al Ameera Village and Al Helieo Down Town.
