These are the rules linked to the rent index for 2009:
Rent Value
Increase Allowed
26 – 35% less than the average stipulated by the index
5% increase allowed
36 – 45% less than the average stipulated by the index
10% increase allowed
46 - 55% less than the average stipulated by the index
15% increase allowed
Less than, or 56% less than the average stipulated by the index
20% increase allowed
It is unclear if these allowable increases will be applied in 2010 as well.
